Where do we get our Puget Sound links?
No, we
don't simply search Google for them!
While the Internet has definitely leveled the playing field for small
businesses to compete with large businesses, it now takes either
money or time to get your site ranked well in the search engines.
Sites with deep pockets pay a search engine optimization (SEO) specialist to make the site more palatable to search engines.
So the smaller sites who can't afford SEO, especially nonprofits
and sites useful to a tiny part of the population,
often get left in the dust.
That's why we get links from the real world: the
local newspapers, Seattle magazines, Yellow Pages, local news
programs, on
commercials for local stores. We're always looking for
volunteers to help us find yet more links, if you're interested! And of
course if you know of a site that deserves a listing and is geared
mainly toward the Puget Sound area, let us know.
